The question was raised of creating score categories for new instruments (saxophone, violin, trumpet, Jew's harp, etc.).
As the title suggests, this is a referendum on whether or not it should be done.
I invite THE MAXIMUM number of people to have their say on the subject before March 1st. On that date, a decision will be made based on your opinion.
For those who don't read the forum, well... too bad for them, they just have to do it!

It's not a problem if it's manageable and well indexed.
You don't want to spend an inordinate amount of time looking for an accordion score and come across the guitar or sax version, which is unusable with an accordion.

how about keeping it SIMPLE?
why not "simply" have a section for "other instruments" (including voice) without any other cumbersome distinction, but in which the members concerned would find themselves?
my "multi-card" musical mood is of course entirely in favor of this little departure from the site's name, whose evolution we happily see every day

I have sometimes uploaded scores for vocals and piano, and this is largely usable for an accordionist ... after that, it's not so complicated to transpose a Bb score for another instrument ... I wonder if some FREE sites don't do it?
There will always remain the delicate problem of classification: accordion or not, because it seems to me, in view of the site's name, necessary to limit the number of categories ... the genre section for accordion scores is already underfilled on PA !!!!
and even by genre: how many different genres to use, some songs, some rhythms are ambiguous or multiple ...

I'm personally only interested in accordion scores, but let's think about the others, since there are not only accordionists on the site. I'm in favor of a "Other instruments" category, as long as the scores are deposited in the right section.

anyway, notes are always notes, or else they're chord grids for guitarists or tablatures for diatos!

personally, I think it's a great idea, but so as not to be too scattered I'd prefer a single heading for other instruments with a small note for guitar, sax .... I'm a guitarist, singer and I find my happiness in PA.

hello everyone scores for other musical instruments are useful for us and for our fellow musicians for example harp scores are totally adaptable to the accordion as well as the pianole classifying by instrument name would allow us a quick searchthank you for these good ideasmusicalement germinon

and I don't find it very useful to put it in another category;
if I play alone, the key doesn't matter to me because even for us it's easier to play with only a few diese or bémol.
when playing with others, I transpose either at sight or using my harmony assistant software
the only useful differentiation is whether the score includes chords or not, otherwise you'll soon find yourself with 50 scores for the same piece in all sorts of keys.

So the survey is long over!
In view of the generally positive opinion, it's going to be done!
However, for the "other instruments" category, I see a problem that will arise very soon.
If you're looking for saxophone scores, for example, you'll have to go through all the "other instruments" scores.
I think it would be wiser to have one category per instrument, even if some of them are empty.

The categories have been implemented!
As in my previous post, I've created one category per instrument to make sorting easier.
The instruments currently available are :
chromatic accordion
diatonic accordion
bandoneon
saxophone
trumpet
violin
piano
guitar

Hello Slade,
I'm surprised there isn't a chromatic bass category.
I had already mentioned the subject a few weeks ago on this site.
It's very different from standard basses and you can't play a "standard" score on chromatic basses (and lycée de versailles)!!!
