I'm Belgian and I'm taking up my instrument again after a little break of 60 years.....
I've forgotten which finger to use to go up and down a C major scale.
The C on my instrument is on the 3rd row.
Who can help me.
I do have Charles Demaele's scale summary chart but I'm having a bit of trouble with the numbers (up or down) ???? finger 5 ????
Thank you all
Cdt

Hello
There are 2 fingerings from 1 to 4 when the thumb is not used or from 1 to 5 when the thumb is used.

Hello, the C in the 3rd row means that you have the so-called Russian system. Buttons are positioned differently than on a French system.

Thank you, I'm at crt. In Belgium we play C 1,2 or 3 depending on the region and always with Belgian basses (inverted) going up F going down G, etc.
