SINCE YESTERDAY THE DOWNLOADED SCORE DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE ANYMORE BUT A NUMBER.
IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE THE NAME OF THE COMPOSER(S) TOO.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Hello,
The score should normally be saved under his name. Indeed I will add the artists.
Which score are you referring to?

First of all, thank you Slade for your responsiveness.
These are all the scores uploaded since yesterday 12/1/21; whether they were published the same day or several months ago.
Example : Traditional Argentina - Zamba de Vargas published on 12/1/21 gives : 1.pdf
or René FEUILLET - Cabriole, published on 26/7/20------>1 (1).pdf then 1 (2),
etc...
Am I the only one concerned? The other downloads, France Musique - Open Jazz for example, always work well.
I thank you for the possible research.

Bonjout JPG,
thank you, I'll have a look.
Hello,

I wanted to make a request for a score,
I thought I should try to insert the cover (visual) in short the cover of the book I'm looking for! It can avoid homonymous ambiguities sometimes, because many similar works and different publishers use the same titles, and it's confusing ....

so my question is summarized in the title:
to send a message Forum or request for partition, what is the image format to use ? PNG, JPG or other ?
what is the maximum size in KB ?
what is the maximum size allowed ? ex : 200 x 150 ....

I tried JPG 149x199 or 17ko, and despite the reduction of size and weight in bytes ... it does not work .... ?

Have I neglected, forgotten something or is it a bugg ?

thank you in advance for giving me the useful information so that it works.

Sincerely

abomic

PS, I test an insertion again and I post without knowing if it will work...

for all intents and purposes, I need this image insertion feature to complete my Tuto mentioned in the iGigbook Tuto section, in order to indicate which pdf books are compatible with the indexes pre-defined by iGigBook

Good evening, I would like to insist on the question of image format management accepted by the forum's micro software ? format ? type ? size in ko ? size in pixels or points ?

Hi abomic,There are no restrictions on images. However, the P-A text editor is an external module whose image upload was in relation with the host imagehack. However, since its insertion (already 4 years ago!) imagehack had to change their process and the upload does not work anymore. You can use the icon "add image" and add a link to the image you want to insert. This one must be online.
Thanks for pointing this out, I will look into replacing the editor.

thank you for your clarifications, Slade and Cindou,

suggestion if you change or modify the firmware for the forum
- put handles to increase the size of visibility of the message so that each one can improve the readability, the presentation of the message which it sends.

- Option "Preview" before validating would be desirable for the same reasons.

thank you for the enormous time you devote to this site and with all my encouragements!

Sincerely Abomic

Here's what works and what doesn't:

What doesn't work:
- the image file integrator via the forum's firmware
- the copy and paste

What works very well :
- Drag and Drop
for the neophytes .... apply the indications below

How to do it : open 2 windows
- the one containing your image files to be transmitted
- the one of the forum opening the dialog box
- reduce each window to the same size in the same screen
- Click on the chosen image while holding down the left click
- keep the left mouse button pressed and move the cursor to the small window of the forum editor .... magic ... it works !
bjr to all
I don't have a personal computer, only the one at work
I can't print the scores in JPG mode
I'm not sure how to do it, but I'm sure I can do it.
thank you

hello
we can notice in passing that in spite of the numerous advices, recommendations, tutorials, etc. etc. we continue to deposit scores in image formats instead of using the PDF format, one of the mysteries of the human brain, the connections are sometimes slow to be established ;) but "on a given horse ......"
except a voluntary blocking on your place of work the handling seems simple (there are besides several methods) here is one:
download the file
right click on the file
4th choice : print
possibly choice of the printer
click on print
to read you

Hello

Otherwise, if you really can't print other than PDF...the free online converter works very well..I often use it without any problem.

at the following link:

http://www.conv2pdf.com/

and, if you wish to group 2 (or more) pages, to the following link:

hello
don't hesitate to say hello the next time, which is the least polite thing to do
otherwise your question will be, rightly, deleted
first and last notice
answer : unfortunately not, when a score is deposited in an image format in several parts it can only be recovered in several parts
hence we encourage you to file in PDF format and eventually merge several pages into one file
greetings

Good evening cindou11,
Thanks for the info
but I just discovered that I could convert .JPG files to .pdf with the software of my Canon 5600F scanner
Best regards

Hello Yves

here is a solution for you ...

Apparently, we are neighbors since I live in Longecourt en Plaine ... 7 km from Genlis

in personal message we communicate our addresses and if you have a problem ! I go to see you or you pass by the house and we settle the problem ... or even simply our telephones and we take contact...
I am retired and I can move easily ...

Tell me in PM what you think ... you click on contact under my picture here on the left ... and that's it!

See you soon

Hello,

When you have a score of several pages and that your scanner does not allow to scan them in only one document here is the handling which I use.

For example, the 3 pages of the Amazon score of Jean CORTI...

These three pages are scanned in jpg format...which is not very practical for filing...

By downloading a free "print to pdf" software like PDF Creator, you can easily create a single pdf containing the 3 pages of the jpg score.

First, I had to download the 3 pages of the score and then save them on my computer....then, thanks to PDF Creator, I selected the 3 pages together in jpg format...then I clicked on "Print file"...then...in the printers list, I selected "PDF Creator"....

And hop! instead of 3 separate jpg files, my score is inside a single pdf document...

Magic, isn't it?

And bonus...instead of 1.70mo for the 3 jpg.... the pdf document is only 1.25 mo

Moreover, you have only one download to do afterwards on P-A.

Hoping that this topic will help to limit the downloads of the scores of several split pages....(it also works to group several pdf in a single document)...

I wish you a good Sunday,

Michelle

Hello again,

Noticing that the hyperlink I had inserted in the text to get the free PDF Creator software does not work, here is the link to paste and copy in your browser:

Have a nice Sunday!

hello

Thank you Michelle !

I hope that this will allow many people to deposit their scores in pdf (it's also faster to send the score)

I use ''Expert PDF 8 Pro'', but it is unfortunately not free...

So use PDF Creator, it's completely free and easy to use (intuitive) ....

You're welcome jmimi!

I know that for many people computers = Chinese!

If we can help by giving some little tips...all the better!

Especially since the number of scores available, to group the scores of several pages in 1 document greatly facilitates the search and classification!

A +

Hello,
I use command line tools.
the magic tool: imagemagick

http://www.imagemagick.org

I first convert the jpeg to monochrome tiff with FAX encoding "convert -threshold 50% -monochrome -compress Group4 -type bilevel 1.jpg 1.tif "and so on for each file (note: you can also use TheGIMP for this phase)
then I put it all together in a single pdf file: "convert 1.tif 2.tif 3.tif resultat.pdf "
