Hello the extension KAR specifies that the lyrics in the file with the format MIDI are present..but KAR or MID it is always a format MIDI only drawback there can be in midi the format zero or all the tracks are mixed together..often the format adopted by the first synthesizer keyboards..the format ONE or there all the tracks are parallel (in safeguard the ones following the others until the last one) It is enough to rename KAR in MID if for you it is simpler

Thank you for your research but indeed the Pa4x is supposed to transform a mid file but the sax track only appears in the intro. This is probably the limit of what the Pa4x can do.
I didn't really find any knowledge on this subject to explain it.

Hello you can always try to visualize the MID kar by opening it in a score editor like MUseScore or other ..you will know in which channel/span the sax is.
