details
The "Marche Indienne" is a composition by Adolphe Sellenick, a 19th-century French composer and conductor. Composed before 1879, this military march is one of his most famous works, and was dedicated to the Prince of Wales.
It also won accordionist V. Marceau to win, in 1913, the great annual Denain music competition, before a jury greatly impressed by Marceau's fingering and virtuosity. It should be pointed out that this competition was reserved for wind and string instruments, and no one had imagined that the accordion could compete with these.
